Hay Fever & Seasonal Allergy Clinic
Clinician-led assessment and a personalised management plan for seasonal allergy symptoms
Hay fever affects around one in four adults in the UK. For some people it is a mild seasonal nuisance; for others it disrupts sleep, concentration, work and time outdoors for months at a time. Symptoms commonly include a runny or blocked nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, an irritated throat or ears, coughing and fatigue.
Our Hay Fever & Seasonal Allergy Clinic gives you a private, unhurried appointment with a registered clinician to review your symptoms, identify your likely triggers and agree a management plan that suits your circumstances.
What the appointment includes
- A full review of your symptoms, their pattern through the year and the impact they have on your daily life
- A review of your medical history, current medicines and any previous allergy treatment you have tried
- Discussion of your likely triggers and practical measures to reduce exposure to them
- An assessment of how well your current approach is working and where it might be adjusted
- A personalised written management plan
- Posible referral for testing, treatment and further medical management of your symptoms
From £98
What happens at your appointment
1. Consultation. Your clinician takes a full history and discusses your symptoms, triggers, medical background and what you have already tried.
2. Assessment. Your clinician assesses your symptoms and explains the options that may be appropriate for someone in your situation, including their benefits, risks and limitations.
3. Your plan. You agree a personalised management plan together. If your clinician considers that a prescription medicine is clinically appropriate for you, this will be discussed with you individually, and any decision to prescribe is made by the prescriber at that consultation.

Hay fever is an allergic response to airborne allergens such as pollen, dust mites or animal dander. There is no cure, but for most people symptoms can be managed effectively. Your clinician will explain what is realistic in your case.
Practical steps that many people find helpful include monitoring the daily pollen forecast, keeping windows closed at peak times, showering and changing clothes after being outdoors, and avoiding drying laundry outside during high-pollen periods. Your clinician will discuss what is most relevant to your triggers.
The purpose of the appointment is assessment. Whether any treatment is appropriate, and if so which, is a clinical decision made by your clinician with you, based on your individual assessment. It is possible that the outcome of your consultation is advice, a change to your current approach, or a referral.
Yes — please tell us when you book and tell your clinician at your appointment, as this will form part of your assessment.
